I’m on car #12 and Motorcycle #1 in my 15 year history of driving legally. However, only one vehicle has made it past the 2 year mark. Another one only made it six months! This month I will have owned my E46M3 for 8 years!
So how about you Oppo, what is your longest stay with one car?
Enjoy your Friday, and this Ruf.

I owned a 1991 Shadow ES TurboVert for about 4 months. That’s the shortest
I’ve been driving for 19 years and have owned nearly 30 vehicles

I’m almost to two years on my current car. My first lasted about 9 months, if I recall correctly. Of course, I only owned it on paper; it spent at least half of that time in the shop. I only sold it because it wouldn’t survive the drive to college, nor would it survive sitting at home for months at a time... For a horrendously unreliable pile of crap, though, I loved that thing.

my SX4 was a month shy of 5 years, till i crashed it.

Hand-me-down 1992 Ford Tempo 3.0L V6, drove from 2005-2010 hides face
Gotta say, that car did pretty well considering our neglect of it. Needed a starter motor at some point, heater hose, seatbelt buckle broke, tape deck never worked and wouldn’t come out of the dash like a good boy; otherwise solid. It’s still going, two owners later.
Didn’t have any reason or extra money to change. Since then, the family vehicle became a minivan, and I need a commuter car.

14 years on my 1998 Passat (3 years with my dad before that). I donated it about 6 months ago.
I’m 37 and I’m on my third car ever — 6 years, 14 years, and 6 months, respectively.

I’ve been driving since September 1998. I’ve had a total of 7 cars in that time, the first of which was a hand-me-down from my dad, so I’ve bought 6.
Shortest ownership was my ’92 Acura Integra GSR that I bought in March 2001 and sold in January 2002, because I was a broke-ass college kid.
Longest was my ’06 Mazdaspeed 6 that I bought in October 2008 and sold in June 2013, because it was a Mazda in Wisconsin and I wanted to escape it before the rust got any worse.

I’ve got a Bronco 2 that I bought for 500$ in 2005. It has driven a grand total of 50 feet in that time (lots of grand plans about a ranch truck, very little desire to actually do it).

People have the tendency to ram into my cars at red lights, stop signs, etc. My current car got smashed in due to someone cutting me off, but thats getting fixed. My current longest ownership of a car was about a year and 3 months. Poor baby failed a compression test and I couldn’t justify the cost to fix that along with all her other problems, so I had to get rid of her this past August. Her name was Millie.

I had a ‘94 Geo Tracker from 2002 to 2007 (first car), I only had 2 years of being able to drive it legally.
Then an ‘06 Kia Rio from 2007 to 2015 (second car). That one I drove the piss out of. Averaged 31,000 miles a year and didn’t want to let it go.
I may go back and buy examples of those models one day. Mod and restore them into the “best versions of themselves.”

What year is it?
I bought my 2009 Pontiac Vibe in August of 2008, so it’s coming up on 7 years and 4 months on the 19th. That’s the longest for me personally in a car.
My family had a 1989 Mercury Sable from 1988 to 2003, and a 1995 Aerostar from 1994 to 2009. I’d have to sit down and calculate the actual months to figure out which was longer, but each was a car i drove at one point in time thanks to hand-me-downs.

I’ve had my blue GTO for 4 years in March. I’ll have to get it a present. :)

I had my CR-Z for 30 months before I was T-boned in a hit and run. I’d probably still have the car if not for that.
Other than that, I tend to cycle through things pretty quickly. I’ve bought at least one vehicle the past five years... but only sold one of them by choice. I’m hoping to hang onto my new car (Party ST) for awhile, though.

After that, I owned my 2011 Mustang GT for 5 years.
I’ve had my 2008 Honda fit for 5 years now.
90 Accord - 1 year, 86 Accord - 1 year, 08 TSX - 2 years, 88 Toyota pickup - 2 years, 07 FJ Cruiser - 1 year, 12 CTS almost 1 year (so far), 96 Viper almost 2 years (so far).

Hmmm... I had my ‘93 Mustang from 1998-2002. Then my ‘97 Mustang GT from 2002-2009. Traded that for my NC (2009-2013) which was traded for my Lexus (2013-2014), and now my BRZ (2014-present).

My longest owned is a bit deceiving, since it’s a project car. If I include the project car (79 Camaro) it would 18 years. If we’re talking vehicles we use as a daily, I owned a 94 Ford Probe for about 4 years. My automotive ADD has made it so I cycle through them fairly frequently. I’ve had roughly 22 cars in the roughly 23 years I've been driving.

Well I am only 24 so I have not had too much opportunity for owning a car. My first car was a Honda Civic which I owned from when I got my license until about 5 years later. At that point, I bought a Miata and I have now had that for 1 year. But I plan to keep the Miata forever, so that number will eventually be much higher.

Technically, 12 years, but that car hasn’t been road legal for 7+ of those years.
